Can you clearly and succinctly communicate your life purpose, mission, vision, and legacy?
When a man has clarity on these questions, the metaphorical ship of your life (aka your frame) can navigate anything that the ocean of life sends you. They are your guiding compass that provides motivation, direction and meaning.
Without them, it's easy to get caught in the storm of distractions.
Alcohol, drugs, porn, overworking, youtube, food, and codependent relationships may provide immmediate relief but they divert your precious attention from what's most important.
In the absence of elders or mentors to offer guidance, sadly most men never realise their real potential.
You are built to face the storms of life with the presence of a Jedi, yet these qualities lay dormant until practiced.
As men, we are inspired by the Jedi archetype as it represents mastery, focus, and leadership. Yet these aspects of yourself often need the right context to come fully online.
And there is no better context than wild nature.
Removed from the daily distractions of life, wild places provide the perfect environment to dig in and transform your internal chaos from nemeses to close allies.
For millennia, men have utilised wild nature as a training ground for embodying spaciousness and guardianship in their lives.
For a period of 10 years, my life was a train wreck. I spent years battling stress-induced depression, heartbreak, anxiety, and utter overwhelm. I fought hard until eventually in 2018, I went solo in nature to meet my demons head on.
Those ceremonial days spent alone changed my life completely. I emerged from the depths of my own despair by applying the tools I now share today. I forged my purpose into a mission, vision and legacy statement, and from there, this work was born.
Drawing on 23 years of guiding experience in the Tarkine alongside 22 years of men's work, vipassana meditation, and extensive transpersonal work, it's my mission to support you with these tools and allies to nail your purpose too.
I've spent over 1000 nights in the Tarkine since 2000 when I co-founded the social enterprise, Tarkine Trails. Over 12 years, we ran hundreds of expeditions into this wild place. For me, this landscape is home and it brings me great joy to introduce it to you.
For any man, taking substantial time away from daily life is a big commitment. To assess whether this experience is a good fit for you, you can book a free call with Darvis to connect and get feedback on your current frame. If you decide to jump in, you'll be asked to make your first payment or pay in full. You will then coordinate dates with Darvis.
The journey includes a five day solo in the middle of the experience. For millennia, men have embarked on the challenge of going out alone into nature. Free of distraction, spending alone time in the wild can be a profoundly life changing experience. The space provides an opportunity to face your fears, feel what needs to be felt, and build your confidence and capacity to forge the life you want. Solo wild time also builds your embodied resilience to the many obstacles we face in our daily lives. The more comfortable you feel with the wild, the more grounded and capable you become in weathering the storms of life with mastery.
Every business worth its salt has a purpose, mission and vision statement. This business plan is the lifeblood of the organisation. The plan also provides a framework of accountability that a business uses to measure its performance. A sound idea right?
So why don't we apply this principle to our own lives? It seems crazy not to.
From the moment you sign up until two months post-journey, you'll have intimate support from Darvis to nail your life purpose, mission, vision and legacy statement, and integrate them into a daily practice frame. This is the ultimate harvest of the journey - becoming radically clear on who you are, what you want, where you're going, and how to stay on track.
Throughout the journey, you will receive support in developing your own practice of guardianship. Guardianship is the art of fortifying or protecting your purpose so you stay on track and stay resourced on your mission.
Our work together in the wild is the easy part, the real work begins when you get home. The storms of life will still keep raging so it's important that you develop a solid practice of guardianship to keep your ship on course.
Beyond the in-person journey, you also receive 2 months of support for maintaining your frame. Once a month, we will check in together, review your plan, and adjust as needed.
